"Live Like We're Dying" Video Premieres!

Kris Allen's music video for "Live Like We're Dying" premiered this morning at PopEater.com. The video was directed by Marco Puig. Check it out below!

In an interview with PopEater, Kris said the idea of the video is, "I'm pulling [this] big cord through the junkyard and through all these other things and then I plug in the clock and it starts counting down to zero and there's performance stuff in there. I'm playing the guitar and playing the piano and singing, too. In the end when it hits zero, it's kind of like the song, it's like we only have so much time so we gotta do what we want to do."

It sounds like he helped come up with the concept. It's a cool video with some great visuals.

After scouring YouTube for the best quality videos from the Miami Dolphins Tailgate Party, I've all five songs that Kris performed. The first three are very good sound quality (the sound on "Baby One More Time" isn't as good.) I'll post more as I find them.

Kris performed at Cincinnati's Seton High School this morning. The high school earned a private performance from Kris by raising $5,000 for breast cancer research.

Kris' Album Cover Appears Online

A rep for 19 Entertainment has confirmed that a new image of Kris is in fact the official cover for Kris' major-label debut. And that cover seems to confirm that Allen's album is self-titled after all.

The photo, which began making its way around the internet lastnight after Barnes & Noble posted it on their website, shows Kris sitting in a theater, looking longingly back at the empty seats behind him.

In an interesting artistic choice, Kris is the first "Idol" winner to be looking off-camera for his debut disc artwork. Every other champ stares back at the listener — except for Ruben Studdard, who keeps his closed eyes obscured with a cap on the cover of 2003's Soulful album.

Kris Performing at Bosom Ball This Thursday

The 2009 Q102 Bosom Ball for Breast Cancer, presented by Michelob Ultra, will take place this Thursday, October 15th at the Madison Theater, in Covington, Kentucky. Kris will be performing at this year's event. Kris called in and talked to Q102 about his upcoming CD and how his life has changed since winning American Idol. Click here to listen to the interview.

The Q102 Bosom Ball has raised over $75,000 for breast cancer charities in the Tri-state area. This year’s funds will be shared by Susan G. Komen and The American Cancer Society.

Doors open at 7:00pm. Bosom Ball is a 21+ event.

Kris Appearing on Good Morning America

Good Morning America has announced the majority of their fall concert series on the ABC website. Kris will be on November 17, the day his debut cd is released.

"Good Morning America" airs live from 7am to 9am EST, with concert performances usually starting around 8:30am EST. Check your local listings.

"Live Like We're Dying" Makes Its Debut on Z100

Kris' first single, Live Like We're Dying, made its debut this morning on New York radio station Z100. Kris was in the studio for the debut, and was charming and witty (as always).

Michael Slezak of EW.com was perhaps the first to weigh in on the new single:

I already weighed in last week on the 23-second snippet of Kris Allen’s “Live Like We’re Dying.” The full version of the debut single from the American Idol season 8 champ premiered this morning on Z100, and I’ll just say the additional 181 seconds now available for consumption only make the track sound more like a future smash hit to me.

We're so excited for Kris, and we have every confidence that Live Like We're Dying will be a huge hit!

"Breakthrough Performance" Emmy Nomination

It's been a huge year in television...but which TV moments have been the most memorable? Seeing Kris win American Idol is a moment we'll not soon forget!

Kris' win on the Season 8 Finale of American Idol has been nominated for an Emmy for "Best Breakthrough Performance" and voting for the year's top three is open to us, the viewers.

The result of the voting will be revealed on September 20th on the Emmy awards on CBS at 8pm et/pt. This is the first time this award will be given.

ETA: Kris did not win the Emmy, but we're excited that his winning moment received a nomination.

Kris' Debut CD Slated for November 17th

American Idol season 8 champ Kris Allen is slated to drop his debut album on November 17, the singer announced to fans via his Twitter account on August 27th. Allen told EW.com in an exclusive interview last week that he’s been writing with collaborators during down days on the current American Idols Live tour, and that he recently worked with tunesmiths Lindy Robbins and Toby Gad. Other confirmed Allen collaborators so far include The Fray’s Joe King, Christian recording artist Mat Kearney, and producers Salaam Remi and Claude Kelly.
